Our client, a leading Atlantic Canadian law firm, seeks a Wills & Estates Associate to join its Halifax practice. This is a chance to handle sophisticated estate matters within a collaborative, well-resourced firm, with a clear path toward partnership. No existing book of business is required.

Responsibilities include estate planning, high-value estates, probate, and managing client relationships while collaborating across the firm. Halifax relocation and Atlantic Canada ties are valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Wills & Estates experience
• Substantive estate planning experience with complex/high-value matters
• Estate litigation experience is an asset
• Strong client service, communication, legal writing and practice management skills
• Ability to independently manage files while collaborating with a team
• Member in good standing of a Canadian law society and able to practise in Nova Scotia
• Open to candidates across Canada relocating to Halifax

• Assist with probate and estate administration matters.

• Develop a long-term Wills & Estates practice supported by strong internal referrals.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Wills & Estates experience, ideally representing at least 60% of your current practice.
• Strong preference for substantive estate planning experience, particularly complex or high-value matters.
• Estate litigation experience is considered an asset.
• Strong client service, communication, legal writing and practice management skills.
• Ability to independently manage files while working collaboratively within a team.
• Member in good standing of a Canadian law society and able to practise in Nova Scotia.
• Open to candidates across Canada who are interested in relocating to Halifax, particularly those with ties to Atlantic Canada.
