Job summary

Mathews Dinsdale & Clark LLP in Halifax is seeking an Associate Labour and Employment Lawyer with 1–4 years of experience to join our Halifax office. You will advise clients on a broad range of workplace law matters and collaborate with a collegial, growing team.

Candidates should be admitted to the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society or be eligible for admission; strong civil litigation background is welcome as you build a practice across labour relations, employment law, and related areas.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Advise employers on labour relations, employment law, occupational health and safety, workers' compensation, human rights, and pay equity.
• Represent employers in proceedings before Nova Scotia and federal courts and tribunals, including arbitrations.
• Collaborate with a collegial team at our Halifax office to develop clients and matters.

Applicants should either be a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society or eligible for admission. We welcome applications from Atlantic Canadians practicing elsewhere in Canada who are interested in returning home, as well as from candidates outside the region who are eager to relocate to Atlantic Canada.
