Job summary

Sun Life is seeking an Associate Group Underwriter in Ontario to evaluate risk, analyze pricing opportunities and support growth of Group Benefits. You will work closely with sales partners and stakeholders to balance Client needs with profitability.

The role requires a university degree, strong Excel skills, and the ability to explain decisions clearly. Sun Life offers hybrid work, Care Days, Sick Days, flexible benefits and a pension plan with automatic and matching contributions.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and numerical analysis.
• Strong judgment, decision-making and organization skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assess risk and determine pricing, financial terms, and contractual conditions for Group Life, Disability, Health, Dental, and Critical Illness.
• Complete renewals, quotations, plan changes, and new business analyses within service standards.
• Partner with sales teams to understand Client needs and support growth opportunities.
• Provide insights to help Clients manage risk and plan costs while maintaining profitability.
