Associate Creative Director, Social Media Centre of Excellence

This role, based in Toronto, Ontario, offers a salary range of CA$85,000.00 to CA$105,000.00.

About the Role

As an Associate Creative Director, Retail Brands, you will co-lead the Art Department, oversee a team of designers, motion designers, illustrators, and copywriters, and drive the creative strategy for social media campaigns across Loblaw's retail banners including Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaw, No Frills, and Real Canadian Superstore. You will focus on social-first creative, digital storytelling, and platform-native content, ensuring high-quality, engaging, and brand-aligned content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-lead the Art Department, ensuring a unified creative vision across all social content.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary creative team.
  • Develop and execute innovative, platform-native creative concepts.
  • Champion authentic social storytelling tailored for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Oversee creation of visual assets, ensuring high standards.
  • Provide strategic feedback to team members.
  • Present creative concepts to stakeholders and secure buy-in.
  • Collaborate on creative strategy and resource planning across multiple brands.
  • Manage budgets and ensure cost-effective creative solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and experiment with new formats and technologies.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of creative experience with a strong portfolio of social-first campaigns.
  • Proven leadership in managing creative teams.
  • Expertise in social-first creative development from concept to execution.
  • Strong storytelling skills through design and copy.
  • Experience with static, motion, and video creative for social media.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Deep knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
