Irving Oil is seeking an Associate Accountant to join the finance team in New Brunswick. You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, support the financial close, and ensure accuracy of multi-currency reconciliations.

The role emphasizes data integrity, collaboration with Treasury/Tax/IT, and proactive analysis to aid decision making. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, annual bonus potential, pension, and paid vacation.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree/certificate in Business with a focus in accounting.
• 1–2 years of work experience in accounting is required.
• Strong accounting, reporting, and analytical thinking skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel; experience with Oracle and Allegro is an asset.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly recurring and ad hoc journal entries to support financial reporting.
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate results.
• Perform account reconciliations and other control activities to maintain financial integrity.
• Contribute to financial statement note disclosures and related documentation.
• Support internal and external audit processes through preparation of working papers.
• Provide information for tax queries and assist in the tax provision and compliance process.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support business decisions and audit.
