Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an assistant project manager within the Building Operations team. You will manage activities and deadlines to gain a clearer picture of client, team and project needs.

You will work on large-scale building and infrastructure projects in Canada, overseeing stakeholder communications, resource availability, and various administrative tasks. This role emphasizes organization, schedule management, and on-site safety.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ working experience in the construction industry.
  • University degree or technology diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of project coordination and teamwork.
  • Strong client-service orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project activities and deadlines to meet client and project needs.
  • Maintain open communication with team, trade partners, consultants, and clients.
  • Review and update construction schedules and reports.
  • Track shop drawings, RFIs, POs, change notices, and completion documents.
  • Prepare and analyze project quotes to secure best prices.
  • Compile and present project reports for assigned projects.
  • Uphold safety standards and HS&E programs on site.

As assitant project manager working in our Building Operations team at Pomerleau, you manage several activities and deadlines to gain a clearer picture of client, team and project needs. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $500 million – you will play a crucial role in the successful management of stakeholder communications, ensuring resource availability, and overseeing various administrative tasks.

  • Assist the project team with your keen eye for detail in providing project coordination and administrative support.
  • Utilize your passion for client services in ensuring open lines of communication when it comes to our team members, trade partners, consultants and clients.
  • Diligently review, interpret and update our construction schedules.
  • Utilize your passion for organization through the successful maintenance, review and follow-up of shop drawings, RFI’s, material purchase orders, change notice quotes and project completion documents.
  • Meticulously review, collect and analyze project quotes, seeking out the best prices in the market.
  • Own the collection and completion of companywide project reports for your assigned projects.
  • Be a role model for the application project specific safety standards helping to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E programs, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on-site.

This role could be for you if you have

  • A proven track record of project coordination and team collaboration.
