Job description

Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Warehouse Manager at our Mississauga location.

What You Will Do:
  • Support warehouse operations, branch logistics, shipping, and inventory control while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Assist the warehouse manager in leading a team of 20-25 staff, including shippers, receivers, parts handlers, and delivery drivers, through coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, staff, and management.
  • Oversee vendor returns and shipping processes, resolving order discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper bin organization and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Participate in staff meetings to improve productivity and address issues.
  • Uphold and embody FGI Customer Service Standards and Core Values.
  • Promote FGI's safety culture by adhering to established procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Require:
  • At least 2 years of warehouse management experience and over 5 years in progressive warehouse roles.
  • Experience in aftermarket or heavy-duty parts is preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse equipment (forklifts, RF scanners).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn in-house systems.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 75-100 lbs and standing/walking frequently.
  • Heavy-duty parts knowledge is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like Epicor Prophet 21, SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, or Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
  • Strong people management skills and leadership qualities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Team-oriented with a no-excuses approach and accountability.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail.
