As the Assistant to the Category Manager, you will contribute to Laura’s success by supporting the Category Manager at every level of the merchandise buying process, consistent with division strategy. Your responsibilities will include analysis, report preparation, and merchandise procurement alongside the Category Manager.

How will you support the team?

• Assist the Category Manager in managing OTB by class / supplier on an ongoing basis.
• Provide the Category Manager with monthly and seasonal analysis of the business for planning purposes.
• Create Storyboards.
• Create Purchase Orders and execute modifications (e.g., cost adjustments).
• Follow up on repeats for the Category Manager (e.g., inquiries about availability, discounts, and deliveries).
• Maintain professional relationships with vendors.
• Execute Re-SKU’s and recalls.
• Review Style Cards or V-listing weekly to monitor style performance and recommend actions (e.g., repeats, fit issues, quality issues).
• Follow up on order delivery and shipping, reporting delays or issues to the Category Manager.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Fit Departments on quality control issues and approvals.
• Contact vendors, stores, and the Distribution Centre for samples and organize swatches, books, and samples for marketing and product knowledge.
