Job summary

Dollarama is seeking an Assistant Team Leader to support the management team in daily store operations, drive customer service excellence, and maintain an organized, efficient retail environment.

You will supervise staff, assist with opening/closing, cash handling, and ensure safety and cleanliness while delivering a positive shopping experience in a fast-paced setting. Ideal candidates have 1 year retail experience and supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• Approximately one year of relevant experience in the retail industry.
• At least one year in a supervisory role.
• Flexible availability (day, evening, weekend).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the management team in managing store operations and staff.
• Boxing and unboxing daily shipments.
• Stocking daily products on shelves.
• Climbing ladders to reach all areas of the store.
• Providing good customer service and resolving customer issues.
• Ensuring store safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Following up on assigned tasks.
• Conducting manager-on-duty tasks: breaks, time and attendance tracking, and participation in hiring/performance management.

Daily Tasks (but not limited to)

• Assisting the management team in managing store operations and staff.
• Boxing and unboxing daily shipments.
• Stocking daily products on shelves.
• Climbing ladders to reach all areas of the store.
• Providing good customer service and resolving customer issues.
• Ensuring store safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Following up on assigned tasks.
• Conducting manager‑on‑duty tasks: making sure daily breaks, time and attendance are properly tracked and participating in the hiring and performance management process.

What Do You Need to Succeed?
