Job summary

DOLLAR TREE STORES CANADA, INC. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development in Edmonton. You will help manage day-to-day tasks, supervise associates, and ensure a clean, safe shopping environment.

Responsibilities include organizing merchandise, coordinating scheduling and payroll records, handling cash deposits, applying loss prevention measures, and ensuring promotions and displays are well maintained and appealing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and ensure staff comply.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and presentable, including bathrooms, floors and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
