Job summary

Dollar Tree Canada is hiring a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates and delivering positive experiences for communities served. You will assist with all store functions, open/close procedures, asset protection, and policy adherence on a day-to-day basis.

You’ll help manage merchandise flow, plan displays, and execute monthly Sales Planners while maintaining store cleanliness and a safe, respectful environment for customers and staff

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and handle physical tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restocking, including bathrooms and floors.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates.
• Assist with receipt and return of merchandise and freight flow.
• Plan, merchandise, and maintain displays and monthly Sales Planners.
