Looking for Assistant Managers in the following areas :

Eastern Ontario: Ottawa, Cornwall, Brockville, Kemptville, Smith Falls, Kingston

SUMMARY :

Assists the Store Manager in managing daily store operations, including growing sales, staffing, merchandising, expense control, maintaining a safe environment for employees and customers, and delivering a superior shopping experience. Operates within company policies, government legislation, and collective agreements.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Assist in achieving or exceeding weekly, period, and fiscal year store goals, including sales, profit margin, shrinkage, and labor targets.
  2. Implement merchandising programs, procedures, and processes to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.
  3. Work with Department Managers to establish productivity goals and standards; ensure merchandise is ordered and displayed according to planograms.
  4. Maintain store compliance with health and safety regulations.
  5. Provide leadership through hiring, training, directing, and developing a customer-focused staff.
  6. Utilize new technology initiatives to enhance staff and store proficiency.
  7. Monitor local market competition and recommend strategies to overcome disadvantages.
  8. Participate in community involvement initiatives to enhance the store's image.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with vendors and union representatives.

Qualifications :

  • College or University education
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience
  • Good business acumen
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Leadership skills
