Job summary

GUESS in Winnipeg is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee the customer experience, train staff, and maintain store and stockroom standards. The role reports to Store Manager and supervises sales, desk, and stock associates to drive results.

Responsibilities include completing training, coaching on product knowledge and selling skills, ensuring excellent customer service, and upholding visual merchandising directives.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience with a proven track record for driving sales and profit results, and training and developing a team.
• Proficiency in personal computer use and detailed report analysis.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting in excess of 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for a minimum of eight hours during scheduled shifts.

• Training Completion: Ensure all associates complete training per company guidelines.
• Leadership by Example: Lead by example by training, developing, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching on product knowledge, selling skills, visual merchandising, and delivering the customer experience.
• Customer Service: Ensure an excellent level of customer service is a priority at all times by consistently executing and achieving the Customer Experience through regular assessment, coaching, and follow-up with the team.
• Visual Merchandising: Maintain all visual merchandising standards, directives, promotions, and ensure overall cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom.
• Sales Goals: Meet or exceed profitability expectations for the store in sales, payroll, shrink, and conversion.
• Payroll Management: Meet all payroll expectations.
• Loss Prevention: Control company assets by meeting all loss prevention measures.
• Policy Compliance: Execute and comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Decision Making: Use sound judgment when making decisions.
• Communication: Maintain excellent communication skills.
