Job summary

Payzant in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations and coach a friendly, high-performing team. You will guide merchandising, scheduling, and customer service to deliver an engaging shopping experience for the community.

In this hands-on role you’ll monitor performance, support promotion execution and safety standards while developing staff to grow into store leadership responsibilities. This position is full-time and on-site.

Responsibilities

• Assist with merchandising, pricing, and inventory controls

What you'll be experiencing:

Operations

• Support day-to-day store operations to ensure efficient and consistent service
• Monitor sales results and assist in executing plans to achieve store goals
• Coordinate store activities including scheduling and workflow
• Communicate regularly with store leadership on performance and opportunities for improvement
• Assist with promotional events and in-store initiatives
• Perform other duties as required

Financial Acumen

• Support achievement of sales, payroll, and gross profit targets
• Monitor daily sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Assist with effective scheduling and payroll control
• Help drive sales through strong customer service and selling practices

Merchandising

• Maintain merchandise presentation and visual standards
• Support pricing accuracy, signage, replenishment, and inventory control
• Assist with product assortment and identifying local customer needs
• Support execution of promotions and seasonal merchandising changes

People Management

• Support and coach associates to deliver excellent customer service
• Help build a positive and productive team environment
• Assist with hiring, training, and performance development
• Demonstrate strong selling skills and coach associates in effective selling practices

Safety

• Ensure compliance with company policies, laws, and safety regulations
• Participate in required health and safety training
• Promote safe work practices and report hazards or incidents
• Help maintain a safe and organized work environment
