Job summary

Dollarama in Lac-Sainte‑Marie, Quebec is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in daily retail operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and achievement of sales goals. This role acts as Manager on Duty in the Manager’s absence, with development opportunities within the company.

The position requires retail leadership experience, open availability for day/evening/weekend shifts, and strong communication and decision‑making skills to guide a fast‑paced team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of retail experience.
• At least two years in a supervisory or management role.
• Open availability for day, evening, and weekend shifts.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with daily operations and staff management.
• Support merchandising, stocking, and processing shipments.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve escalated issues.
• Train, coach, and develop team members.
• Manage cash handling and opening/closing duties as needed.
• Assign tasks and ensure store safety and cleanliness.
• Conduct performance evaluations and give feedback.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards.
• Participate in hiring and performance management.

Job description

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving sales goals. Acts as Manager on Duty in the Store Manager’s absence.

Daily Tasks (but not limited to)

• Assisting the Store Manager with operations and staff management.
• Helping with merchandising, stocking, and unpacking daily shipments.
• Providing exceptional customer service and resolving escalated issues.
• Training, coaching, and developing employees.
• Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Assigning tasks to the team and ensuring store safety and cleanliness.
• Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback.
• Ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
• Maintaining visual merchandising standards.
• Responsible for hiring and performance management.

What Do You Need to Succeed?
