Summary

Assists the Store Manager in managing daily store operations, including growing sales, staffing, merchandising, expense control, ensuring a safe environment, and providing a superior shopping experience. Operates within company policies, government laws, and collective agreements.

Responsibilities
  • Help achieve store goals related to sales, profit, margins, shrink, and labor targets.
  • Implement merchandising programs and operational procedures to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Work with Department Managers to set productivity goals and ensure merchandise displays follow planograms.
  • Maintain store compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Lead staff hiring, training, and development to ensure a customer-focused environment. Utilize new technology initiatives for staff proficiency.
  • Monitor local market competition and recommend strategies to management.
  • Participate in community involvement initiatives to enhance the store's image.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and union representatives.
Qualifications
