Job summary

Realstar is seeking an Assistant Resident Manager to live on-site at one of our Cornwall properties. The role includes guest-facing duties, coordinating routine maintenance, and being on-call during evenings and every second weekend.

You will handle resident inquiries, assist with lease processes, and support daily operations with the on-site team. A base salary of $43,000 plus a signing bonus and an apartment suite is provided as a taxable benefit.

Qualifications

• Experience in property management or similar role is an asset.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
• Ability to perform general cleaning duties and minor maintenance repairs.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push and move objects exceeding 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner.
• Promote a welcoming atmosphere and handle resident concerns within 24 hours.
• Assist with processing online applications, lease renewals, and related daily operations tasks.
• Organize and execute resident events such as holiday parties and summer BBQs.
• Perform thorough cleaning of vacant units and common areas.
• Assist with HVAC monitoring and basic maintenance tasks as needed.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Resident Manager to live and work at one of our properties in Cornwall. This position would require you to live on‑site and work four weekdays each week, every second weekend and on‑call some evenings. This offer is for an existing vacant position within the organization.

Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet and interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner
• Promote a welcoming atmosphere
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a "can-do" attitude
• Attend to resident concerns and service requests within 24 hours
• Follow up with residents to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Handle office administrative tasks, such as processing online applications, creating notices, managing lease renewals, and other duties related to support daily operations
• Organize, promote and execute resident events (i.e. holiday parties & summer barbeques)

General Cleaning

• Maintain cleanliness of all common areas including foyers, amenity rooms, underground parking garage, locker rooms, patios, and rooftops
• Knowledge and safe handling of cleaning chemicals
• Perform thorough cleaning of vacant units, including appliances, floors, walls, windows, kitchens, washrooms, and balconies, ensuring they are move‑in ready
• Dust fire hose cabinets, bells and elevator tracks to minimize excess debrisMonitor and clean of garbage chutes, garbage and recycling rooms
• Collection of garbage and recycling bins in coordination with the city waste schedule
• Knowledge and understanding of the safe handling of cleaning materials (WHMIS)
• Conduct yard maintenance, including picking up loose garbage around the exterior of the property, removing snow and ice, salting entrances, walkways, and rooftop walkways

Property Maintenance

• Assist residents how to complete maintenance requests through the proper channels
• Daily walkthroughs of each floor, stairwell, and common areas fixing minor deficiencies
• Report serious deficiencies related to curb appeal or safety hazards to the direct supervisor for further action
• Assist the supervisor in HVAC monitoring, troubleshooting minor electrical, plumbing, boiler & chiller maintenance
• Assist the supervisor with scheduling and overseeing repair activities of tradesmen and contractors as required

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and French (applicable to Quebec only)
