Job summary

Maple Reinders Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Coordinator/Co-op Student (Civil Construction) to support project managers and superintendents on civil projects in the Greater Toronto Area. The role focuses on maintaining contract documentation, assisting with estimates, budgets and schedules, and ensuring safety on site.

A vehicle is required for site visits due to limited public transit access. The position is a co-op term (8 or 12 months) starting September 2026, with two placements:

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a related post-secondary program (Architectural Technology, Construction Management or Civil Engineering).
• Or a new graduate from a related program who completed studies in 2026.
• Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain logs (purchase orders, shop drawings, submittals, plan logs).
• Assist with selecting suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations.
• Clarify scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers.
• Support site safety in line with regulatory requirements and Corporate Health and Safety Policy.
• Attend site meetings and help complete project deficiencies.
• Track inventory of supplies to ensure on-time delivery.

Assistant Project Coordinator/Co-op Student (Civil Construction)

Term: Starting September 2026 Term 8 or 12 Month Term Preferred

As an Assistant Project Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to support our Project Managers & Superintendents in the delivery of our exciting Civil projects. The focus of your role will be to maintain contract documentation, support estimating and assisting with the preparation of budgets and schedules. We work on a variety of types of contracts such as Design Build, Plan and Spec and Construction Management and you would gain experience on all of these. Please note A vehicle will be required to visit project sites, as the locations are not easily accessible by public transit. The purpose of the Assistant Project Coordinator in supporting the project team is to ensure that a profit is made on the project, that the work is performed as per the contract documents, that the project is completed with outstanding quality, and that the jobsite is a safe workplace.

In doing so, you will be involved in:

• Update and maintain purchase order logs, shop drawing and submittal logs, and plan logs.
• Gain an understanding of how to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations.
• Assisting with and/or clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers.
• Ensuring there is a continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our Corporate Health and Safety Policy.
• Attending site meetings and assisting in the completion of project deficiencies.
• Tracking and keeping inventory of supplies to ensure they arrive on schedule and are tracked.

To be considered for this role you will have:

• A full-time student enrolled in a related post-secondary program of study (i.e. Architectural Technology, Construction Management or Civil Engineering)
• Or be a new graduate from a related program of study who completed studies in 2026.
• Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel would be an asset.

Pay Range: $22 - $28 / hour (depending on previous co-op terms and experience)

Location: Currently searching for two co-ops. One will be office based in Mississauga. The other will be site based in Pickering.
