Job summary

DeSerres is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Eglinton location in Toronto. You will support the store manager by leading the team in customer service, human resources, merchandising, and financial control.

You will assist in planning, operations management, and implementing sales strategies while participating in hiring, training, and performance evaluations. A strong emphasis on leadership and customer engagement is required for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of retail experience or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Strong sales skills and customer focus.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Willingness to work varied weekday, weekend, and evening hours.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the store manager. You will support the team in customer service, human resources management, merchandising, and financial control.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, organization, and management of all operations;
• Apply the company's business strategies to achieve the sales and profitability objectives;
• Be involved in the employee hiring process;
• Be responsible for new employee training, including customer service, product knowledge, sales, and merchandising;
• Be involved in employee performance evaluations;
• Through a constant presence on the sales floor, foster a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement;
• Maintain schedules and adhere to salary budgets;
• Effectively communicate information to both customers and employees;
• Perform and supervise in-store inventory management.
