The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the senior management team with various tasks and overseeing daily store operations. Responsibilities include staff scheduling, supervising employees, ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving conflicts, maintaining store standards, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. This role aims to prepare the candidate for a senior management position within Healthy Planet.

Job Duties
  1. Assist store manager with employee recruitment, training, and development.
  2. Provide guidance and instruction to store associates.
  3. Support sales goals and promotional strategies.
  4. Maintain store standards and ensure policy compliance.
  5. Create staff schedules to meet business needs.
  6. Maintain visual standards and enhance the shopping experience.
  7. Plan and execute merchandising strategies.
  8. Handle customer complaints and resolve conflicts.
  9. Manage inventory levels, stock replenishment, and loss prevention.
  10. Conduct inventory audits and maintain records.
  11. Manage inventory via the ‘Just In Time’ system.
  12. Build relationships with customers and vendors.
  13. Prepare bank deposits and assist cashiers as needed.
  14. Create and analyze retail reports.
  15. Participate in coaching and evaluations with the store manager.
  16. Ensure policy compliance and oversee daily operations.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience as a retail assistant manager or similar role.
  2. Experience in health food stores or related fields.
  3. Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations.
  4. Strong knowledge of retail sales principles and practices.
  5. Leadership skills in supervising and training employees.
