Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking an Assistant Lodge Manager to join our Horizon North camp facility in Alberta. The role supports Lodge Manager in operating the site, coordinating logistics, food services, contracts, and maintenance, with a 14 days on/7 days off schedule and 12-hour days.

Travel to site from Edmonton is provided; safety sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in hospitality management and a post-secondary business/management education.

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary education preferably in business or management.
  • 5+ years of progressive management role in hospitality, food service or related industry.
  • Experience in the Camps and Catering and/or oil and gas industry is an asset.
  • Must be a strong leader with focus on people management.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), data entry, report preparation, email communication, and the ability to quickly learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Lodge Manager in leading and coordinating overall operations;
  • Identify, develop, and implement site strategies, challenge assumptions underlying each site’s operations, and ensure that operations are in compliance with policies and procedures;
  • Ensure operational efficiencies and productivity goals are outlined and realized;
  • Service the client by ensuring the highest quality facilities and services are provided to clients, owners and residents
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer satisfaction; develop systems and practices to consistently measure and monitor satisfaction levels
  • Maintain a human resources strategy that ensures human capital is attracted, retained and utilized at its highest levels;
  • Demonstrate the ability to critically review and assess current operations with the objective for constant improvement.

Job Description

Based in a world class Horizon North camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 14 days on and 7 days off, with 12-hour workdays.


Transportation is provided to site from a pickup point in Edmonton.


The Assistant Lodge Manager, reporting to the Lodge Manager, will assist with the overall operations, logistics, food services, contracts, environmental and maintenance.


This position is safety sensitive and requires drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment.
