Job summary

Schlegel Villages is seeking an Assistant Food Services Manager to support both Humber Heights in Etobicoke and Erin Meadows in Mississauga. The role is permanent full-time with 75 biweekly hours split between two locations. The candidate will lead a food services team, plan menus, and ensure regulatory compliance and resident-focused service.

Salary ranges from the mid-40k to low-50k CAD, plus benefits and growth opportunities. This is an on-site leadership role within our elder-care villages.

Qualifications

• Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) with active membership.
• Experience in large-quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing.
• Strong leadership and proven ability to supervise and secure cooperation of food services staff.
• Excellent oral and written communication with residents, families and caregivers.
• Knowledge of Ontario Food Premises Regulation, OH&S and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of CSNM and maintain active membership.
• Oversee large-quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing.
• Demonstrate creative menu planning, preparation and presentation.
• Lead and supervise the food services team.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families.

The Village of Humber Heights, located in Etobicoke, and the Village of Erin Meadows, located in Mississauga,Ontario , have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Food Service Manager to support both villages and join their team.

Status: Permanent Full-Time
Location: Humber Heights: 2245 Lawrence West, Etobicoke, M9P 3W3 and Erin Meadows: 2930 Erin Centre Blvd., Mississauga
Expected Start Date: TBD

Scheduled Hours: 75 Biweekly. The Village of Humber Heights requires 3 days/week + the Village of Erin Meadows requires 2 days/week.

The hiring range for this role is between $48,410 and $52,300.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and a Tuberculosis (TB) screening test before starting.

As our new Assistant Food Services Manager, you will:

• Be a member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (C.S.N.M.) and maintain active membership.
• Have experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing.
• Demonstrate a creative flare for menu planning, preparation and presentation.
• Have strong leadership skills and proven ability to supervise and secure the co[1]operation of the food services team.
• Work with and communicate effectively with the older adult population as well as their family and/or caregivers.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills and an effective team player who works well with others.
• Be knowledgeable in the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, CCHSA/ORCA, Ontario Long-Term Care Facility Program manual and OH&S Act.
