Job summary

NexWav is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller in Quebec to take charge of the complete accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end, while supporting a manufacturing team undergoing transformation. You will help optimize cost price, improve processes, and ensure accurate data for internal and external stakeholders.

The role involves collaboration with the financial director, preparation of financial statements, and coordination with auditors.

Qualifications

• Independent experience with the complete accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and cost accounting context.

• Familiarity with payroll processes to support and validate operations.
• Functional English, both spoken and written, used with stakeholders.

Assistant Financial Controller

This opportunity will allow you to become the right hand of the financial director, support the accounting team, and directly contribute to process improvement.

Your Role

You will take charge of month-end and year-end accounting operations. You will also participate in significant work to optimize the cost price and working methods of the department.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing financial statements and analyzing key balance sheet items
• Performing adjusting entries and ensuring the accuracy of accounting data
• Taking charge of year-end files and coordinating requests from external auditors
• Ensuring the follow-up of the complete accounting cycle with a high level of autonomy
• Participating in the review and improvement of manufacturing cost price
• Assisting team members in their daily accounting operations
• Monitoring certain elements related to payroll and annual obligations
• Identifying discrepancies, raising issues quickly, and proposing solutions
• Contributing to the optimization of processes and tools in the department

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Good understanding of cost price
• Experience in preparing an audit file
• Sufficient knowledge of payroll to support and validate certain operations
