The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis is to provide comfort, care and a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children. Our objective is to enable families to practice family-centered care by providing them with all of the basic comforts of home.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis has a full-timeAssistant Family Services Managerposition open. This position is part of a mission-focused team of professionals providing compassion and hospitality to families with seriously ill children.

This position is responsible for daily House Operations, Guest Services and Management of the Grove House: 1 building, 72 bedrooms.

This position manages the nightly occupancy report. In addition, the position is responsible for data entry into RMHC guest and facility management database and assist with the background check process for guest families for both Houses.

As part of RMHC the position collaborates with the team members to achieve position and organization goals in support of the RMHC mission and Core Values.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm

Essential Functions

• Guest Services
  • Oversees guest family services during shift
  • Works to create a comfortable, supportive environment for guest families
  • Monitors guest family observance of policies and procedures during their stay
  • Addresses any guest family situations requiring action in a discreet and appropriate manner and consults with the Family Services Manager
• House Operations
  • Assists with operations of Grove House
  • Updates information in RMHC guest family database
  • Manages nightly occupancy report
  • Maintains and manages facility management software
  • Assists with background check process for guest families of all Houses.
• Management
  • Supports the Family Dinner Program
  • Supervises and trains assigned volunteers and service groups.
  • Receive and properly document in-kind and cash donations, and payments for lodging
• Responds to emergency situations occurring in the House
• Responsible for on-call duties as scheduled or assigned

Physical Demands

Must be able to concentrate and remain focused while handling multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects. Must be able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and lifting of moderate to heavy weight material up to 25 lbs. Must be able to frequently climb stairs, including up to 3 flights, and frequently walk distances up to approximately 80 yards. Must be able to travel between RMH locations as needed.
