Position Overview

As Assistant Ecommerce Business Manager, you will support driving the strategic growth of our online business. Reporting to the Ecommerce Business Manager, you will contribute to forecasting, data analysis, content strategy, paid media campaign execution and optimization while overseeing day‑to‑day ecommerce operations for our direct‑to‑consumer website and Pure Play Ecommerce customers. The position works closely with our agency and website development partners to execute the ecommerce strategies and tactics to reach our sales objectives across the platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Strategic Sales & Forecasting
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans for assigned customer accounts to achieve revenue, margin, and expense targets.
  • Assist in sales forecasting, working with the Planning & Insights team to seek greater accuracy. Monitor inventory levels to ensure in‑stock position meets consumer demand.
  • P&L assessment and analysis of customer performance and create actions for improvement.
  • Plan, execute and optimize promotional campaigns and trade marketing activities, including major e‑commerce events (e.g. New Year New You, Prime Day, Black Friday/T‑12). Report and analyze promotional effectiveness.
  • Compile and analyze sales performance trends and trade marketing performance; identify opportunities and threats and report back to the business with recommendations on how to address them.
  • Plan and execute the launch of new product innovations on ecommerce sites.
  • Coordinate all elements of Ratings and Review programs including packaging, labelling, set up and shipping to the fulfillment houses for various review programs.
Content & Advertising
  • In collaboration with the Digital team and Agency partners, lead, advise and report on the strategy and execution of ecommerce paid media, including Amazon Advertising budget on PPC + DSP.
  • Lead the development and ongoing optimization of all ecommerce content including storefronts, titles, descriptions, images and videos. Liaise with Brand team, Digital Marketing team, and design agencies for development. Optimize content based on consumer conversion data, brand strategy, customer reviews, customer feedback, etc.
  • Perform day‑to‑day operational tasks including item maintenance and optimizing strategies, in collaboration with key stakeholders and agency partners.
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day management of the Nature’s Way Canada website, including:
  • Pricing & Promotional planning and implementation.
  • Content management.
  • Sales data insights and actions.
  • Marketing support.
  • Liaise with eStore Web Developer and IT as needed to manage website development updates and day‑to‑day maintenance.
  • Analyze site performance to identify opportunities to further enhance eStore performance.
  • Monitor listing status on eCommerce key accounts & Nature’s Way Canada’s website, to ensure listings are live and follow NWC standard for content quality, integrity and completeness.
Data Analysis
  • Analyze data to support recommendations to maximize sales in the Etail channel.
  • Research and recommend product optimization using expertise of keyword research, digital marketing, and SEO with objective to drive conversion and sell‑through.
  • Data analysis on competitive products and competitors to adjust category strategy based on assessment of the competitive landscape and emerging online trends.
  • Assist and provide ad hoc reporting including assessment of chargebacks and vendor fees to inform strategic decisions.
Travel
  • Some travel may be required, both nationally and internationally.
Environmental And Social Responsibility
  • Support with the development, implementation and monitoring of the organization’s environmental and social goals as they relate to your team. This includes establishing your team’s performance metrics in alignment with the organization’s sustainability strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation or continuous improvement to enhance the organization’s sustainability goals (such as waste reduction/ diversion, circularity/ plastic reduction, emissions reduction, sustainable procurement, local sourcing, etc.).
  • Foster a culture of sustainability within the organization by encouraging your team’s participation in sustainability initiatives and committees (such as volunteering at community events, Sustainability Committee/ DEI Committee participation, 1% for the Planet employee nomination contest, etc.).

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must have experience in ecommerce sales and/or digital marketing with track record of delivering results.
  • Strong understanding of web analytic software with experience in tracking/analyzing the success of a site.
  • Must be an analytical thinker, capable of driving metrics and benchmarks to ensure continuous improvement through process and results.
  • Advanced experience in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective at multi‑tasking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to a variety of ad hoc requests.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and welcome collaboration and feedback from other team members.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and track strategic metrics to measure effectiveness and impact.
Education & Experience
  • Completion of a university degree with business or marketing focus and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years ecommerce or digital marketing experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in ecommerce merchandising, promotions, SEO, paid search, and digital marketing.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills (internally and externally).
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving, and detail focused.
