Job summary

Save-On-Foods in Surrey, BC is seeking an Assistant Department Manager, Meat at our Clayton location. The role supports leading a team, coaching staff, and delivering Always Customer First service in a busy meat department.

The successful candidate will promote a positive workplace, organize tasks, and help drive sales through great service. This part-time position requires open availability and 40 hours per week as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience is an asset.
• Food Safe Certification is preferred.
• A passion for great food and providing outstanding customer service.
• A strong work ethic and a willingness to go the extra mile.

Responsibilities

• Assist in leading a team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource to team members.
• Foster a positive environment focused on Always Customer First service.
• Engage and retain team members through training, development, and recognition; identify future leaders.
• Communicate important messages with the team.
• Use knowledge of the community and competitive environment to grow the business.
• Take counts of stock and ensure accurate stock levels.
