Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance in Quebec is seeking an assistant department manager to join our store team. The role involves day shifts, 40 hours per week, and opportunities to grow within the company.

You'll manage daily department activities with the department manager, coach staff, and help maintain inventories, pricing and customer service standards. Training opportunities are available to support your development.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in retail or customer service.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willing to participate in training courses.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day activities within the department with the department manager.
• Provide team feedback for development and achieving objectives.
• Collaborate with production and customer service clerks to ensure exceptional customer service.
• Assist with inventories, pricing, marketing and productivity according to standards.

What might a typical day look like?
As an assistant department manager, you will have to :

• perform day-to-day management activities within your department in collaboration with the department manager;
• provide team members with the feedback necessary for their professional development and the achievement of established objectives;
• collaborate with the production and customer service clerks; - Ensure the implementation of exceptional customer service
• in collaboration with the manager, ensure the management of inventories, price lists, marketing and salary productivity according to established standards in order to ensure business readiness;
