An exciting period of change for our Vancouver client has created the opportunity for us to find a personable change-agent and technically strong CPA for this Assistant Controller role.

As a key member of this dynamic head office group, this role will work strategically with all lines of business while supporting the Controller as a key contributor to the financial reporting function. You will also lead & mentor a small team and help them grow and excel in their careers. Our client is looking for someone who loves to ‘tell the story’ and get buy-in from internal stakeholders for the financial and management reports you deliver. You know how to read the room and communicate effectively while demonstrating the value of new initiatives.

TMGVC

• A Canadian CPA (CA / CGA / CMA) or foreign equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including those relevant for non-profit organizations.
• 3+ years of experience in a financial reporting role.
• 2+ years mentoring a team of 2 or more accounting staff, including CPA students.
• 5+ years total experience in an accounting capacity.
• Experience communicating across multiple departments is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, self-motivated, and personable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong business acumen.
• Respectful, honest, and demonstrates integrity in all interactions.
