About the Role

The Assistant Controller reports to the Financial Controller and supports all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end procedures. The role involves maintaining full-cycle accounting and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with ASPE and financial regulations.
• Review and post sales and AP invoices.
• Manage manufacturing order closures.
• Recommend improvements to financial policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with CRA, PST/GST, and WorkSafeBC regulations.
• Cross-train within the team on various financial functions.
• Contribute to other finance projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA or CPA candidacy.
• At least two years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (e.g., GP Microsoft Dynamics, Sage).
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt and maintain professionalism.
