Context

The MCS team is partnering with Metrolinx to deliver the Yonge North Scarborough Subway Extension project. This position is for Yonge North Subway Extension portion of the project and this role will be reporting into the Commercial Director.

Missions/Main Duties
  1. Develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships, developing mutual trust and understanding.
  2. Support the commercial management of the Rail Adjacent works and Advance tunnel works, supporting the timely payment of the works, progress reporting, variations, delays and contract management.
  3. Support on definition of Allowable Costs, assessment of incentive payments, verifying eligible costs.
  4. Supports teams understanding of the Contract.
  5. Liaison with the Independent Certifier on Payment Certification.
  6. Support to Control, manage, and report contractual obligations including contract administration involving Early Warnings and Change Control.
  7. Attending progress meetings, recording and reporting regular upstream Client meetings and downstream meetings with Project Co and when necessary, its Supply Chain.
  8. Budget planning, forecasting and cost management.
  9. Contributes into the risk and opportunity reporting.
  10. Participates in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs.
  11. Support aspects of contract administration including payment certification, reconciliations, cost reporting, change management and reporting on progress.
  12. Provide substantial input to performance measurement systems, Key Result Areas/ KPIs, implement long term improvement processes and monitor the results.
  13. Training and development, mentoring of junior staff.
Profile/Skills
  1. 3 - 7 years of relevant experience in infrastructure or rail transit projects with renowned construction or consulting company(s).
  2. Proven track record in articulating complex construction issues and communicating concise positions to business directors and teams.
  3. Skilled in Variation and claim analysis.
  4. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, engineering, accounting, business administration or equivalent.
  5. Experience with analysis, construction and design scope.
  6. Experience with change management and implementation within a production environment.
  7. Potential leadership and employee engagement skills.
  8. Proficient in MS office tools.
  9. Digitally competent.
  10. Team player. Strong presentation and problem-solving skills.
  11. MRICS or working towards this.
