Job summary

Adecco is seeking an Assistant Buyer for a temporary assignment in Mississauga. This on-site role (Mon-Thu on site, Fri work from home) offers a pace-friendly environment in a retail/CPG setting with weekly pay and vacation pay.

You will analyze product performance, manage purchase orders, liaise with vendors, support planogram development, and assist with store openings and promotions. Two years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in a similar position with preference for retail or CPG experience.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Advanced with Excel and reporting tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Prior experience in retail, merchandising, buying, or supply chain is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze product performance and identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.
• Manage purchase orders, including creation, changes, cancellations, and delivery tracking.
• Act as a liaison between internal buying teams and vendors to resolve issues such as out-of-stocks, pricing discrepancies, and new product launches.
• Review daily and weekly reports, providing insights and highlighting key trends or concerns.
• Support merchandising initiatives including planogram development and store setup coordination.
• Assist with planning product availability for new store openings and promotional activities.
• Collaborate with vendors to support item setup, product sourcing, and issue resolution.
• Other duties as assigned and uncovered.

Temporary Assignment (until the end of November, potential extension)

$28–$30/hour + vacation pay

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Buyer to join a dynamic and fast-paced merchandising team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume retail environment, supporting category management and vendor relationships.

Location & Work Model

• Mississauga (conveniently located near YYZ)
• On-site Monday–Thursday, work from home Fridays
• Free parking available OR complimentary shuttle service from YYZ (ideal for UP Express commuters)
