Job summary

YM Inc. is hiring an Assistant Buyer with a keen eye for fashion trends. Based in Toronto, you will help identify the latest styles, create purchase orders and manage pricing, and build relationships with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.

You will pull data for meetings, contribute to trend forecasting, and work closely with store teams to align assortments with seasonal demand. A post-secondary Fashion Merchandising program and retail experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Fashion merchandising program completed.
• Retail experience required to understand store operations.
• Strong organization, attention to detail and numerical skills.
• MS Office proficiency including Excel is essential.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced fashion environment.

In this role, you will:

• Utilize your knowledge of current market trends and create trend reports.
• Create purchase orders and manage pricing
• Communicate and create valuable partnerships with international suppliers and vendor
• Data pull for meetings

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU IF YOU...

• Have gone to one of the awesome post-secondary schools and completed a Fashion Merchandising program
• Have worked in a retail setting before, understand customers and how stores operate to be able to fill the racks with this season's stylish selection of merchandise
• Your nose is constantly in fashion magazines, your Instagram feed consists of designers, models, and influencers and you constantly use #OOTD on your own post!
• Amazing organization skills, outstanding time management abilities, great attention to detail and very good with numbers.
• Everyone knows how to use MS Office these days, but if you are an Excel wiz... Perfect!
