Job summary

Lakesider Brewing Co. in West Kelowna is seeking a Brewing Assistant to support day-to-day brew operations, maintain cleanliness, and assist on packaging. The role requires prior brewing experience, ability to follow processes, and a strong focus on quality.

You'll work under the head brewer, lift heavy loads, and contribute to the craft beer you love while supporting community initiatives and enjoying a collaborative, fun team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in brewing assistant or similar role (wine/cider welcome).
• Experience brewing high quality lagers and pilsners with process knowledge.
• Able to follow processes with high attention to detail.
• Home brewing experience may be requested.
• Knowledge of beer style guidelines and brewing processes.
• Brewing education or diploma is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage self and work area maintaining high cleanliness and sanitation.
• Support brew day under supervision of head brewer.
• Complete cellaring tasks including gravity, CO2, yeasts, and carbonation.
• Assist packaging tasks such as canning, keg filling, and transfers.
• Execute CIP tasks and maintain safety.
• Ensure workplace safety and limit spoilage.
• Operate with minimal supervision and maintain accuracy.

Here’s how

• Manage self and work environment to a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation
• Support brew day under supervision of head brewer
• Complete cellaring tasks as assigned (gravity & CO2 measurements, cold side additions, yeast management, carbonation, etc)
• Complete packaging tasks as assigned (canning line support, keg filling, tank transfers)
• Execute CIP (clean in place) tasks as assigned
• Take responsibility for workplace safety (own and others)
• Limit spoilage due to infection, oxidation, or other threats. Follow established processes and maintain a high degree of sanitation in all areas of the brewery

You’re the right fit for our team

• Minimum 1 yr in brewing assistant or similar role (wine making, cider making, etc)
• Experience brewing high quality lagers and pilsners with detailed knowledge of process and risk factors
• Able to reliably follow processes with minimal supervision, executing tasks with high attention to detail
• Bring a positive attitude to work every day, and make the work day better for others
• Home brewing experience required (samples may be requested)
• Demonstrated knowledge of beer style guidelines and brewing processes
• Open to new perspectives, ideas, and feedback
• Able to lift 50lbs and move 140lbs objects
• Brewing education and/or diploma preferred but not required
