Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive marketing or communications experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple complex projects with cross-functional teams.

Responsabilités

JOB SYNOPSIS:

Under the direction of the Brand Director, the Assistant Brand Director plays a key role in executing Whitewater Mountain Resort’s marketing, communications, and brand initiatives. This position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Sales & Marketing Department, leading project execution, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality communications across all channels.

Working in partnership with the Brand Director, the Assistant Brand Director provides operational leadership and continuity for the Sales & Marketing Department, ensuring marketing initiatives are delivered efficiently, consistently, and to a high standard. This role translates strategic direction into successful campaigns, projects, and guest experiences while helping prioritize work, remove roadblocks, strengthen departmental processes, and foster collaboration across the team.

The ideal candidate is an organized and collaborative leader with exceptional project management skills, strong marketing instincts, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building a world-class mountain brand.

IMMEDIATE REPORTS:

Sales & Events Coordinator, Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Content Coordinators, contractors, photographers, videographers, web developers, and freelancers as assigned.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Department Operations & Project Management
  • Coordinate the day-to-day workflow of the Sales & Marketing Department, ensuring projects remain on schedule and priorities are clearly communicated.
  • Develop and maintain marketing production schedules, campaign timelines, content calendars, and project management systems.
  • Participate in regular marketing planning meetings and project check-ins.
  • Coordinate requests from departments across the resort and prioritize work based on organizational objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day marketing requests, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders throughout project development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve marketing processes, workflows, and efficiencies.
Marketing Campaigns & Communications
  • Lead the execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, social media, email, web, and traditional media.
  • Support the Brand Director in implementing annual marketing and communications plans.
  • Coordinate campaign timelines, creative assets, approvals, and launch schedules.
  • Assist in writing and editing copy for websites, newsletters, media releases, and guest communications.
  • Ensure all communications accurately reflect Whitewater’s voice, values, and brand standards.
Content Strategy & Brand Execution
  • Manage the department’s editorial and content calendar.
  • Coordinate photography, videography, and content creation projects throughout the year.
  • Review creative assets and marketing deliverables for quality, accuracy, and brand alignment prior to final approval.
  • Coordinate creative production including advertising, signage, menus, trail maps, digital assets, event materials, and promotional collateral.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all guest touchpoints.
Team Leadership
  • Serve as the primary operational lead for the Sales & Marketing Department in the Brand Director’s absence.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to the Sales & Marketing Department.
  • Allocate marketing resources and coordinate departmental workloads to remove obstacles that impact productivity and ensure projects are completed efficiently and organizational priorities are met.
  • Foster a collaborative, creative, and solutions-focused team environment.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees, interns, and contractors.
  • Support the Brand Director in developing departmental processes and professional growth opportunities.
Digital Marketing
  • Coordinate website updates and digital content in partnership with internal departments.
  • Oversee email marketing production and scheduling.
  • Coordinate the implementation of digital marketing initiatives including paid advertising, SEO, marketing automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Monitor digital trends and recommend improvements to strengthen marketing effectiveness.
Reporting & Analytics
  • Monitor campaign performance and key marketing metrics.
  • Prepare monthly and seasonal marketing performance reports.
  • Provide recommendations based on campaign performance, audience engagement, and emerging trends to support continuous improvement.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement through data analysis.
  • Support the Brand Director in evaluating return on investment and departmental KPIs.
Events & Guest Experience
  • Coordinate marketing support for resort events and activations.
  • Ensure promotional materials, signage, photography, and communications are delivered on schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to create engaging guest experiences that strengthen the brand.
Industry & Community Relations
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with community organizations, tourism partners, sponsors, media, photographers, creators, and external vendors.
  • Coordinate media visits, content creators, and promotional partnerships.
  • Represent Whitewater professionally within the community and tourism industry.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Promote Whitewater’s safety culture and organizational values.
  • Support sustainability initiatives through marketing and communications.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, marketing technology, and emerging best practices.
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource on Whitewater’s products, services, and experiences.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive marketing or communications experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple complex projects simultaneously while coordinating cross-functional teams and competing priorities.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with digital marketing, social media, content management systems, email marketing, and project management platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset.
