Job description

Join to apply for the Asset Investment Analyst role at Toronto Hydro.

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Connections Intake, the Asset Investment Analyst will provide engineering support to ensure the technical soundness, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the utility's Electrical Distribution Power System. The role involves data management, analytics, and business process improvements related to GIS, Customer Connections Intake, Pre-design, and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) projects. The incumbent will contribute to GIS and EAM application enhancements through gap analysis, business process planning, and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with customer connections communication and inquiries across channels.
  • Support pre-design processes for Low Voltage and High Voltage requests.
  • Lead initiatives to develop Asset Management capabilities and drive process improvements.
  • Create centralized reports for tracking customer connection requests.
  • Validate, manipulate, and export GIS and EAM data for quality assurance.
  • Develop reports, maps, and data quality programs to enhance asset data accuracy.
  • Perform periodic database checks for data consistency.
  • Analyze process and system changes for impact assessment.
  • Create process maps and workflow visualizations.
  • Manage risks related to GIS and EAM system upgrades and implementations.
  • Conduct data profiling and quality metrics assessment.
  • Support preparations for the 2025-2029 CIR Filing by identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to Asset Management policies and procedures, recommending updates.
  • Enhance Asset Management data quality and support corporate data sources.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and provide technical support.
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools for application.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Electrical, GIS, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data management, process optimization, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of GIS and relational databases.
  • Experience with Python/R, Alteryx, SQL, RPA, Tableau is an asset.
  • Project management certification is an asset.
  • Self-motivated with strong ownership and independence.
  • Ability to manage change and challenge the status quo.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Project, Visio, Dynamics 365.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate technological trends.
  • Knowledge of asset management practices is an asset.
