Asset Investment Analyst

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Connections Intake, the Asset Investment Analyst will provide a wide range of engineering support services that will ensure technical soundness, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the utility and its Electrical Distribution Power System. The Asset Investment Analyst is responsible for data management, data analytics, and business process improvements related to GIS (Geographic Information System), Customer Connections Intake, Pre-design, and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) projects. The incumbent will play a critical role in shaping GIS and EAM application enhancement and upgrade activities through gap analysis, business process planning, and stakeholder collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as the primary point of contact to assist with incoming communications from all channels related to customer connections and general inquiries received through the customer connections online channels.
- Assists with the customer connections pre-design process for Low Voltage and High Voltage requests.
- Plays a significant role in the strategic development of Asset Management capabilities across the Customer Connections department by leading working groups across business units to drive business process improvements and system implementation initiatives.
- Creates a repository of centralized reporting to track and maintain records and reports for all customer connections requests. Validates, manipulates, and exports data related to GIS and EAM systems for quality and completeness.
- Develops reports, maps, analyses, and supports data quality programs to improve the accuracy of asset data.
- Runs periodic checks on database tables to ensure data validity and consistency.
- Performs analysis of process and system changes to identify and communicate impacts.
- Develops process maps and workflow visualizations to support strategic decision-making.
- Assesses and manages risks and issues specific to GIS and EAM application implementation and/or upgrades.
- Performs data profiling to produce data quality metrics and assesses risks involved in data integration or conversion for new applications.
- Facilitates and supports preparation for the 2025-2029 CIR Filing by identifying and executing improvement opportunities.
- Contributes to Asset System and Information Management policy and procedure development; recommends changes, additions, deletions to business and data validation rules.
- Supports Asset Management data needs to enhance data quality and reliability; performs information management supporting various corporate data sources.
- Participates and collaborates with internal stakeholders.
- Provides timely technical support and consultation, demonstrates effective project management and process efficiencies; reviews, develops, and/or presents business proposals, plans, designs, processes, operational procedures, and practices.
- Investigates and evaluates new technologies and tools.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree preferably in Engineering, Electrical, Information Systems, Geography/GIS programs, or related disciplines.
- Three (3) years of experience in data management, process optimization, analysis for business projects, and development of data quality initiatives.
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Solid understanding of relational database systems with the ability to transform raw data into analytical reports.
- Experience with Python/R, Alteryx, SQL, RPA, and Tableau is considered an asset.
- Project management designation is an asset.

- Knowledge or training in asset management practices is an asset.
