Job description

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Connections Intake, the Asset Investment Analyst will provide engineering support services to ensure the technical soundness, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the utility's Electrical Distribution Power System. The role involves data management, analytics, and business process improvements related to GIS, Customer Connections Intake, Pre-design, and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) projects. The incumbent will contribute to GIS and EAM application enhancements through gap analysis, process planning, and stakeholder collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Act as the primary contact for communications related to customer connections received through online channels.
  2. Assist with pre-design processes for Low Voltage and High Voltage requests.
  3. Lead business process improvements and system implementation initiatives across the Asset Management capabilities in the Customer Connections department.
  4. Create centralized reports and maintain records for customer connection requests, ensuring data quality in GIS and EAM systems.
  5. Develop reports, maps, and analyses to support data accuracy and quality programs.
  6. Perform database checks and data profiling to ensure validity and assess risks during data integration or conversion.
  7. Analyze process and system changes, develop process maps, and support strategic decision-making.
  8. Manage risks related to GIS and EAM application upgrades and implementations.
  9. Support preparation for CIR Filing by identifying improvement opportunities.
  10. Contribute to asset management policy and procedure development, recommending updates as needed.
  11. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and provide technical support, project management, and process improvements.
  12. Explore new technologies and tools for application and process enhancement.
REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Electrical, Information Systems, Geography/GIS, or related discipline.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in data management, process optimization, and analysis for business projects.
  3. Knowledge of GIS, relational databases, and ability to transform raw data into analytical reports.
  4. Experience with Python/R, Alteryx, SQL, RPA, and Tableau is an asset.
  5. Project management certification is an asset.
  6. Self-motivated with a high degree of independence, ownership, and a commitment to excellence.
  7. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Project, Visio, and Dynamics 365.
  9. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  10. Ability to adapt to technological trends and advocate for continuous improvement.
  11. Knowledge of asset management practices is beneficial.

Toronto Hydro offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing remote work up to three days per week, with onsite presence as needed. Applicants must reside in Ontario and within commuting distance of the office.
