Job summary

CAE Inc. seeks an Assembly Methods Team Leader to guide our Assembly Methods activities in Montreal. You will lead a team supporting configuration management, manufacturing routings, and work instruction development while driving continuous improvement across tools, processes, and methodologies.

You will coordinate resources and priorities to support manufacturing operations, collaborating with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Planning to meet objectives and delivery targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate team activities to achieve quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of manufacturing routings, assembly documentation, and work instructions.
  • Ensure effective product configuration management and support engineering change implementation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Planning teams to support operations and project execution.
  • Participate in production problem-solving activities and continuous improvement of assembly processes.

Job description

As a global leader in civil aviation and defense simulation and training, CAE develops some of the industry's most advanced flight simulators. As part of the evolution of our manufacturing operations and digital transformation journey, we are seeking an Assembly Methods Team Leader to lead our Assembly Methods activities. You will be responsible for a team supporting product configuration management, manufacturing routings, and work instruction development, while contributing to the continuous improvement of the tools, processes, and methodologies that support our assembly operations. Reporting to the Assembly Methods Manager, you will coordinate the team’s activities, resources, and priorities to support manufacturing operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate team activities to achieve quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of manufacturing routings, assembly documentation, and work instructions.
  • Ensure effective product configuration management and support engineering change implementation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Planning teams to support operations and project execution.
  • Participate in production problem-solving activities and continuous improvement of assembly processes.
  • Monitor work progress, manage risks, and resolve issues that may impact project delivery and operational performance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management, manufacturing routings, and assembly processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps Boards and Power BI (asset).
  • Experience with PLM, ERP, or MES systems (asset).
  • Bilingual ( French and English).
