Job summary

CAE is seeking a technician to support maintenance of flight simulators in Hamilton, Ontario. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnostics, documentation in CMMS, and training completion.

The role requires an associate degree or 2-year technical degree and 2+ years of related experience; flexible shifts, ability to interpret drawings and use test equipment; strong electronics knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or 4 years of related technical experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Ability to interpret system drawings, schematics and documentation.
  • Experience operating test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, logic analyzers).
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics theory.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with PC hardware and computer architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all assigned training activities.

  • Conduct basic visual alignments.
  • Execute automated Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures.
  • Assist with simulator refurbishment activities and hardware modifications.
  • Learn and comply with the organization's quality management system.
  • Provide customer service support and respond to customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform housekeeping activities required to maintain simulator readiness and functionality.
  • Support logistics activities, including receipt of parts, repairs, testing, and validation.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Support the technical services team with additional tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree (2-year technical degree) in a technical discipline or 4 years of experience in an electronic, avionics, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Ability to interpret system drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience operating test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics theory.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with PC hardware and computer architecture.
  • Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repair.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting simulator systems or related technical equipment.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Experience performing troubleshooting, repair, testing, and validation activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide customer-focused technical support.
  • Experience working within a quality management system environment.

Base Pay Range

Our total rewards package includes base pay and benefits, with final compensation determined by experience, skill, location, and internal equity.

Pay rate range: $58,000 - $62,000 CAD per year
