Job summary

CAE is seeking a Manufacturing Planner to translate designs into production reality across its Civil Aviation and Defense divisions in Montreal. You will monitor production plans, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with engineering, project management and purchasing to keep schedules on track.

With a bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience, you will analyze material availability, adjust workload releases, and communicate clearly with internal customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or administration.
  • At least three years of relevant experience or training.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read assembly sequences and identify bottlenecks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and ensure on-time execution.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Understand interdependencies within the manufacturing environment and with other groups.
  • Identify and optimize bottlenecks to ensure adherence to the production plan.
  • Monitor daily scheduling and adjust as needed.
  • Serve as a resource person for customer service, engineering, project management and manufacturing cells.
  • Recommend staff adjustments or workload leveling according to the horizontal plan.
  • Analyze material inputs availability to adjust workload release; collaborate with Purchasing.
  • Analyze master plan changes and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Work with engineering groups and project planners to meet deadlines.
  • Promote clear communication and ensure follow-ups.

Responsibilities
  • Understand the interdependencies within the manufacturing environment itself as well as those with other groups.
  • Identify / optimize cell bottlenecks to ensure adherence to the overall production plan on schedule.
  • Perform daily monitoring of scheduling plans and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Act as a resource person for customer service, engineering, project management and manufacturing cells.
  • Make recommendations for staff adjustments or leveling of production according to the horizontal plan (workload vs capacity).
  • Analyze the availability of material inputs in order to adjust the workload release plan accordingly and collaborate with the purchasing department to mitigate the impacts on the production plan.
  • Analyze the new requirements of the master plan and make the necessary changes.
  • Work closely with engineering groups and project planners to meet deadlines.
  • Promote clear communication between the parties and ensure follow-ups.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Relevant bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or administration.
  • At least three years of relevant experience or training in the field.
  • Strong analytical skills & problem-solving skills; Ability to define problems, gather information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to understand the different assembly sequences and identify bottlenecks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and ensure on-time execution of tasks.
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate effectively with different groups, colleagues & internal clients.
  • Able to provide customer support & present information clearly to various stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite; such as Excel.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and high-tension environment.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to generate reports with databases using SQL, VBA, Power Query Language M, Power BI not required but definitely a plus.
  • Familiarity with an integrated management system (ERP), preferably Oracle.
