Haakon Industries Ltd. in Kingston, ON is seeking an Assembly professional to join the Assembly Department. You will assemble HVAC units by installing exterior and interior walls, roof sections and components onto the unit base, following instructions and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Assemble HVAC units by following assembly instructions and blueprints.
• Install and secure unit components with proper alignment and connections.
• Use measuring tapes and hand tools to perform tasks accurately.
• Read fabrication drawings to guide assembly processes.
• Perform basic welding, fitting and metal fabrication tasks as needed.
• Handle physically demanding duties including lifting heavy components.
• Work independently with minimal supervision to meet production goals.
• Collaborate with teammates and communicate effectively.
• Maintain safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.

This team is responsible for assembling air handling units by securely installing exterior and interior walls, roof sections and components onto the unit base.

Your Responsibilities

• Unit Assembly: Assemble HVAC units by following assembly instructions and blueprints to install various structural and mechanical components
• Component Installation: Install and secure unit components ensuring proper alignment, secure connections and overall quality
• Mechanical Skills: Utilize mechanical skills to perform tasks such as basic welding and fitting and fabricating metal products
• Blueprint Reading: Accurately read and interpret fabrication packages and drawings to guide assembly processes
• Measurement and Tool Use: Use measuring tapes to perform calculations and operate air and electric hand tools efficiently
• Physical Labour: Engage in physically demanding tasks, including lifting and installing heavy components and working from heights
• Independent Work: Perform tasks independently with minimal supervision to meet production goals
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively in a team environment with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Safety Awareness: Maintain awareness of safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team

Shift Schedule

• Rotating early morning and afternoon shifts (Monday – Friday 5:45am - 2:15pm and Monday – Thursday 2:30pm - 12:30am)
• Every other Friday off
• Weekend shifts not required (occasional overtime is not mandatory and is dependent on factory needs)
