Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead front-desk operations at Store #1512 in Canada. You will deliver world-class customer service, close rental sales, and maintain a clean, safe facility while managing cash handling and deposits.

You will engage with tenants, follow up on leads, and collaborate with management to ensure high occupancy and excellent service. This role offers a balanced schedule with no evening shifts and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) at SmartStop is a key point of contact at our self‑storage facilities, known for being helpful, knowledgeable, and ready to guide our customers. As an ASM, you will contribute to the success of the property by managing an organized office, engaging positively with customers, diligently following up on leads, nurturing existing business relationships with clients and vendors, and maintaining clear communication with the management team.

Assistant Store Manager Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide world‑class customer service.
• Close sales effectively, whether managing potential sales calls or assisting walk‑in visitors, to meet targeted occupancy levels.
• Respond to phone calls and email inquiries in a timely manner.
• Oversee the daily operations of the facility, including performing routine walkthroughs, identifying and addressing any safety hazards, and reporting or managing issues as needed.
• Must have strong telephone etiquette when addressing inquiries from current tenants, resolving their issues, and making prompt collection calls to manage overdue accounts.
• Effectively sell all aspects of the rental experience, including units, protection plans, merchandise, and features such as auto payment options.
• Manage a cash bank, including processing payments, adhering to cash handling procedures, and making scheduled bank deposits.
• Ensure the facility is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, including overseeing exterior upkeep to enhance curbside appeal.
• Must be a proactive team player who thrives in a diverse and collaborative environment and fosters positive relationships with tenants and colleagues.
• Must have reliable transportation, a valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance.
• This position requires a background check.
