Job summary

RRC Polytech in Manitoba, Canada invites applications for an instructor within the School of Health Sciences & Community Services. The role combines classroom instruction, student guidance, and record-keeping duties, with opportunities to participate in committees and student events.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant Bachelor's degree, native ASL fluency, ASLPI Level 4+, and experience collaborating with ASL–English interpreters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies, Deaf Education, ASL Linguistics, Deaf Culture Studies, or a closely related field.
  • Native or native-like fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • ASLPI rating of Level 4 or higher.
  • In-depth knowledge of Deaf culture, Deaf history, Deaf community values, and barriers faced by Deaf individuals.
  • Experience working with ASL–English Interpreters in various settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom instruction and supervise students.
  • Evaluate and advise students; maintain student records.
  • Participate in department and college committees; assist in orientation and graduation activities.
