Job summary

Qualcomm Canada ULC is seeking an experienced Senior ASIC/FPGA Design Verification Engineer to define, model, design, optimize, verify, validate, implement, and document IP blocks for high-performance devices. You will lead projects, streamline development, and mentor junior engineers across OTN, Ethernet, and PCIe/Xilinx-like contexts.

The role requires strong SystemVerilog, Verilog, UVM expertise, and Unix/Linux scripting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standards-compliant IP blocks for use in OTN / Ethernet / CXL / PCIE/ UALink/ UEC FPGAs or ASICs.
• Lead ASIC or FPGA projects.
• Streamline ASIC development process with advancing tools/scripting.
• Architect, develop and document the verification environment using SystemVerilog + UVM
• Develop test plan.
• Develop and execute individual test-cases against the RTL
• Issue and track bug reports from inception to closure
• Work with external customers and/or internal engineers to verify, validate and deliver designs for use in OTN / Ethernet FPGAs or ASICs
• Mentor junior engineers

Senior ASIC/FPGA Design Verification Engineer

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• MSc/MEng with 5+ years of experience or BSc/BEng with 7+ years of experience in ASIC or FPGA development
• Communications Protocol knowledge (OTN, Ethernet, CXL, PCIE, UALink, UEC etc)
• Solid experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog
• Experience with simulation tools
• Experience in SystemVerilog+UVM
• Excellent ability to use Randomized and Directed Verification Methodologies
• Experience with Unix/Linux Shell scripting
• Experience with source code revisioning systems, SVN, CVS, RCS e.g.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$108,000.00 - $158,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
