Job summary

Shannex Incorporated in Ancaster, Ontario, is seeking a Pastry Chef to join Parkland Ancaster. You will craft baked goods and desserts to established standards, manage receiving and rotation of ingredients, and maintain rigorous safety and sanitation in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring quality for residents and guests.

The ideal candidate has a high-school diploma or GED, a minimum of three years in a high-volume bakery or kitchen, and the ability to work nights and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Red Seal Baker’s papers from a certified institution considered an asset.
• Minimum three years experience in a high-volume bakery or kitchen.
• Ability to work a schedule including nights and holidays.
• Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment.
• Current First Aid & CPR is an asset.
• Previous experience working with seniors in a retirement living or long-term care environment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Preparing baked goods and desserts according to established standards, procedure, recipes, and menus.
• Receiving, storing, and rotating inventory of all required foods and supplies.
• Maintaining safety and sanitation in the kitchen to meet legislative and organizational standards.
• All other duties as assigned/required.
