Big League Food Company in Toronto is hiring cooks and bakers to launch Dear Grain Summerhill, opening Oct 1. Training starts early September; join a growing team to craft artisanal sourdough, pastries, and sandwiches.

We value attention to detail, strong communication, and reliability. This role requires ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen, lift up to 20 kg, and maintain strict food-safety standards. Weekday day shifts, full-time schedule, 5 days.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation or sandwich making is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes.
• Minimum 1 year experience in culinary education in a recognized college/university.
• Possess basic cooking and knife handling skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and assemble sandwiches and pizza according to menu specifications.
• Proof and bake sourdough croissants using recipe instructions.
• Bake cookies, scones, brownies etc. Glazing and garnishing baked goods, using recipe instructions.
• Slice, chop, and prepare ingredients for menu items.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies.
• Prepare daily specials.
• Practice food safety and sanitation standards.
• Reports to Kitchen Leader.
