Lightfox Games is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Art Outsource Manager to join our Vancouver based team to work on an unannounced mobile game for a world-class IP and Publisher.We are looking to build an organization of talented individuals operating in small teams with high levels of ownership.This is a fully remote role, but there might be an optional office location in Vancouver by the end of the year. When remote, we're a quick-to-videocall, video-on studio to keep collaboration fast and effective. Vancouver-based team members may be asked to travel to our Seattle office once or twice a year for on-sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage outsource schedules, asset lists, and delivery milestones
- Partner closely with the Art Director, Artists, Producers, and Engineers to turn art direction into clear, actionable vendor briefs
- Review delivered assets against style guides, technical specs, and IP guidelines, driving feedback and revision loops through to final approval
- Define and enforce technical delivery standards (naming conventions, poly and texture budgets, rig and animation specs) so assets land in Unity without rework
- Manage Publisher art approvals for outsourced work, packaging submissions and tracking feedback through to sign-off
- Build and maintain vendor relationships across time zones, tracking quality, cost, and throughput to know when to scale up, re-bid, or move on
Requirements
- 5+ years of art production or art outsourcing experience in games, with at least one shipped mobile title where you owned the external art pipeline
- Experience managing outsource vendors across regions and time zones
- Understanding of mobile art constraints, including poly and texture budgets, atlasing, LODs, and performance on low-end devices
- Proficiency with production and asset tracking tools such as ShotGrid/Flow and Jira/Favro, and version control such as Perforce or Git
- Working knowledge of Photoshop and Maya or Blender, and the ability to review assets in-engine in Unity
- Strong written communication skills and a collaborative mindset, comfortable working in small, fast-moving teams
Nice to Have
- 2D or 3D art skills to give vendors direct, actionable feedback
- Experience working within an established IP or licensed property, including Publisher approval cycles
- Experience with mobile free-to-play live ops art cadence, including events, seasons, and store content
- Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate art production, tooling, reference gathering, or review workflows
Compensation
CAD $95,000 - $125,000 depending on experience, plus health/vision/dental coverage, RRSP matching, and equity.
