Job summary

The Legislative Assembly of Ontario is seeking experienced Peace Officers to join the Legislative Protective Services Branch (LPS). You will patrol, control access, and respond to incidents, reporting to the Sergeant, Operations.

Applicants should have police experience, a Class G license, and Canadian citizenship or permanent residency. This is a 40-hour week in a 24/7 operation with a comprehensive benefits package, and clear progression from CAD 70,339 cadet wage to CAD 104,376 and CAD

Qualifications

  • Minimum secondary school diploma or post-secondary education.
  • Past training and police experience.
  • Possession of a Class G license.
  • Fit for duty, physical and mental ability to perform the duties.
  • A Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
  • Successful completion of the 16-week Basic training program.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out duties as a Peace Officer in accordance with legislation and Service standards.
  • Apply principles of bias-free law enforcement.
  • Conduct general patrols and control access within the Legislative Precinct.
  • Respond to calls for Service and maintain a safe environment.
