Job summary

Kinistino Sports Complex is seeking a Seasonal Arena Caretaker to manage the facility during events from October 2026 to March 2027. Duties include ice maintenance, cleaning, minor repairs and scheduling rentals, with attention to safety and public relations.

Qualifications

• Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Knowledge of ice maintenance is an asset.
• First Aid/CPR & AED training is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and ability to establish good public relations with patrons and board members.
• Ability to lift/push/pull objects up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the facility during all scheduled events (public skating, hockey games, practices and rentals).
• General caretaking duties: maintain facility cleanliness including dressing rooms, player boxes, penalty boxes and bleachers.
• General janitorial duties: sweep, mop, restock supplies, clean and disinfect washrooms and lobby.
• Perform minor building repairs and daily maintenance.
• Install and maintain arena ice, operate and maintain the Zamboni.
• Ensure all entrances and exits are kept clean and safe from debris and snow.
• Administrative duties: schedule, book practices, tournaments, games and rentals, provide calendar to concession lessee and keep lessee informed of changes to schedule.
• Available mainly weekends and evenings with shift work often required; flexible for daytime and holidays
