Job summary

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, QC, is seeking an Area Manager/Chef de section to ensure smooth, timely production and delivery of a quality product. You will lead, coach, and support hourly staff while driving safety, quality, and cost goals and implementing business strategies on the shop floor.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree or 5 years relevant experience, plus 1+ year in production; a 4-year technical degree is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or 5 years relevant work experience (supervision, management, production, etc.).
4-year technical degree, desired.
Minimum of one year relevant work experience.
Experience in tire manufacturing processes: an asset.
Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of safety and quality procedures, HR policies, and budgeting.
Ability to lead teams.
Ability to use appropriate computer-based technology.

Responsibilities

Maintain the smooth and timely flow of plant production ensuring a quality product is delivered to the next operation.
Achieve the business goals of the operation including cost, quality, safety and delivery.
Coach, develop, and support hourly associates.
Hold associates accountable for attainment of objectives.
Drive Business Center strategies to the floor level.
